Here’s hoping we’re all singing ‘The Glancing Queen’ on Thursday

The Glancing Queen heading for the Craft Irish Whiskey Plate rather than sticking to her own sex for the Paddy Power Mares Chase.

Alan explained:”On ratings, The Glancing Queen would have a bit to find in the mares race, so we opted to take on the handicappers, thinking this was the best chance she would have of winning.

“We always planned to go straight to the Festival from finishing second in the Dipper in January, in which she ran a blinder against the classy L’Homme Presse.

“That is the only time The Glancing Queen has been beaten over fences, and Fantastikas, who finished third that day, has since won a good race at Lingfield, so the form stacks up.

“Furthermore, The Glancing Queen is proven at Cheltenham, and she copes with all sorts of ground, so I hope she will be competitive again here.”
