Tom has three booked rides today at Cheltenham.

1:45 THE GLANCING QUEEN - Took well to fences last season, winning here in the spring; unlikely to be far away.

Owners - Dingwall, Farrell, Hornsey & Murray - Trainer - Alan King

Alan will be at Cheltenham on Friday to see the much-anticipated reappearance of The Glancing Queen in the tw0-mile handicap chase.

Assessing our chances of a celebration, Alan said:”The Glancing Queen showed that two miles around there is the perfect trip when winning a mares race over the course in the spring.

“I wasn’t convinced that The Glancing Queen truly stayed the two and a half when beaten by L’Homme Presse in the Dipper Chase at the New Year meeting, and she again tired up the hill when trying the longer trip at the Festival.

“However, I loved the way she powered through the line when dropping back to two miles in April, albeit in a lesser race, and, though we’d have no worries about the two and a half on a sharper track, at Cheltenham this is perfect.

“There is no doubt that The Glancing Queen, who will be aimed at all the top mares races this winter, is a class act and even with topweight she has to have a big chance.”

2:20 UNANSWERED PRAYERS - Encouraging fifth on hurdles return; possible improver now going chasing for in-form yard.

Owners - The Pres Partnership - Trainer - Chris Gordon

This lad had three hurdle wins (2m-2m5f, good to soft/soft) during last season's novice

hurdle campaign and he reappeared with a creditable fifth of ten at Chepstow (2m3f, good)

last month. He makes his chasing debut today, but he was runner-up in two Irish Points

in autumn 2020 and possible to improve even more so now chasing.

4:00 ALTO ALTO - Close/clear second at Ascot a fortnight ago; respected here, despite 4lb rise.

Owner - Mrs C New - Trainer - Chris Gordon

This boy stayed on for third in a valuable novice's handicap at Sandown (2m good) in April

and ran another big race in defeat when closer/clear second at Ascot (2m3f, good) a

fortnight ago. He has to take a 4Ib rise on the chin but if he's in the same form as that run and will now have fitness on his side we hope for another good run.
