Congratulations

Tom Cannon rode his 53rd winner of the season his career best.

He achieved this upon PRESENTING A QUEEN for trainer

Chris Gordon who reached his 27th winner of the season.

She made all, set a fairly sedate pace until the tempo increased

6f out, she looked slightly outpaced up the straight, but she stayed

on really well to win by a length.

Tom rides today at Newbury.

1:50 SENIOR CITIZEN - COMMENTS

Ran well in the Grand Sefton at Aintree when last seen; goes well fresh; respected.

Owners - McNeill Family.

2:27 MADIBA PASSION - COMMENTS

Off 801 days before creditable 3rd in Wincanton novice (1m7f, good to soft) one month ago.

Owners - M Deeley, J Dale, & A King.

3:02 LORD BADDESLEY - COMMENTS

Highly respectable form in two starts over C&D, fourth in the Betfair Hurdle latest.

Trainer Chris Gordon - Views, This boy has highly respectable form in two starts over

C&D (both on good to soft) winning a novice hurdle by 7 lengths last March.

And a staying-on fourth in the Betfair Hurdle three weeks ago, he has won on the

soft ground before and should have a chance off an unaltered mark and a drop

in grade. It's a small field though today and he ideally wants a strong pace so

fingers crossed he gets one!.

Owners - Mr & Mrs Cheshire.

3:37 HOTTER THAN HELL - COMMENTS

Sole win in 2019; below best on last two starts and needs better to have any chance.

Owners - The Devil's Advocates.

4:12 MAJOR DUNDEE - COMMENTS

2-2 since switched to chasing; open to further progress and has to be feared.

Owners - Exors Of The Late Trevor Hemmings.

4:47 HARDY FELLA - COMMENTS

Made all at Fontwell on debut for Chris Gordon; enters calculations.

Trainer Chris Gordon - Views, This boy ran well in a listed grade bumper

at Cheltenham on the second of two runs for previous trainer, Shark Hanlon.

He then made all in a Fontwell bumper (2m1f good to soft) on his debut for us.

It's a competitive race here today but we hope for a nice run from him.

Owners - Mighty Acorn Stables.

Trainer Alan King, views on Senior Citizen, Madiba Passion, Major Dundee.

We have Senior Citizen having his prep for Aintree’s Topham Trophy when he runs in the Greatwood Gold Cup at Newbury.

Alan added:”Senior Citizen took the same route last year, finishing fourth in the Newbury race, and the timing is perfect for his trip to Aintree. You need to be fit to win there, so you don’t want to be going without a recent run.”

Alan hopes that Madiba Passion could develop into a decent novice chaser next season, but he’s pretty useful over hurdles and he runs in the novices handicap at Newbury. “It’s two miles and he’ll need another half a mile in time, but he made a pleasing at Wincanton after a long break,” said Alan.

Major Dundee is also Newbury-bound, his target being the novices handicap chase. “He’s 2-2 over fences, but he had an issue with a curb after winning at Bangor and is only just ready to return,” added Alan.
