Dancing in Brazil returns at Huntingdon tonight after cheating death at Hereford

The fact that Dancing in Brazil is running at Huntingdon this evening is a miracle in itself as, having been gelded in January, James and Jean Potter’s five-year-old was badly injured on his return at Hereford in early March.

Dancing in Brazil had looked a sure-fire future winner over hurdles when he ran so well to chase home the smart Secret Squirrel at Kempton in November, but, though he was contesting the lead at the second last at Hereford, near-disaster was just around the corner.

Alan explained:”Dancing in Brazil struck into himself quite badly and is lucky to be alive. It went straight through the boot he was wearing and touched the leg but fortunately did not go into into the tendon, Happily, he has recovered, but if he hadn’t been wearing boots he would not be with us now.”

Dancing in Brazil is running in his first handicap, as is Saxon Lane, who is also in action at Huntingdon. Saxon Lane’s best run was at Hereford last November, and in what looks an open race owner Chris Lane will be hoping he can recapture that sparkle.  Our other Huntingdon runner is +, who has run his two best races over this course, finishing a respectable third there last November.

Tom Cannon has six rides at Huntingdon.
