Happy New Year

Tom, wishes his sponsors

all of his friends and weighing room colleagues a Happy New Year.

Tom is riding at Cheltenham today.

1:25 THE GLANCING QUEEN Moves back out of mares-only contests but she looks a major each-way player, trainer Alan King, said The Glancing Queen has run at Prestbury Park four times, winning her first bumper there three years ago, but this will be her first experience of these tricky fences.

Alan said:”The Glancing Queen did everything right when winning her first two races as a novice chaser, and she was particularly impressive at Warwick last time.

“We discussed our options with the owners and agreed to take the mare to Cheltenham rather than heading for Plumpton on Sunday. My reasoning was that it would give The Glancing Queen valuable experience over fences before the Festival in March. She has been in super form at home and schooled well on Thursday, so we hope and think that she will run well.”

3:50 DIAMOND EGG Stable do well in bumpers but this one is in at the deep end on his debut, trainer Chris Gordon said, This boy is making his debut today having never run before

and it also the first horse to run under the ownership of the Henrietta Knight Racing Club.

He is a lovely, just turned 4 year old by Diamond Boy and is a half brother to a French 2m1f chase winner, Chimene, from the family of winning jumpers. He has been working well at home and shows plenty but as you know, we like our first time out bumper horses to have a nice experience and enjoy it, he has quite a tough task today being first time out at Cheltenham but should hopefully run well.
