Tom, has two booked rides today at Ludlow for trainer Alan King.

Looks well worth this step back up in trip; ran creditably (last term) sole start on soft.

Owner - Rupert Anton.

Drops into an easier grade but has struggled on his four starts this season.

Owner - John P McManus.

Alan King - Views for runners at Ludlow.

Every trainer yearns to have a winner or two on the run up to Cheltenham, to emphasise the well-being of the horses, and Alan is no exception, throwing plenty of darts at the board over the next few days.

We are in action at Ludlow and Taunton today, with Canelo heading for the Forbra Gold Cup at the Shropshire course.

Canelo won’t be the first, but his Grand National experience was not one he enjoyed – he eventually came down at the Chair – but there were signs at Doncaster last time that he was more like his old self.

Reflecting on his performances, Alan said:”In hindsight, maybe running in both the Ladbroke Chase at Newbury and the National was a mistake, but, having started on a mark of 145, he is now down to 132, so we just need to get his confidence back.”

Wynn House, withdrawn from Ascot when the ground went soft, make a belated return from a three-month break in the mares hurdle at Ludow. She ran some good races in the autumn and has won over this course before.
