Major Dundee is ideal type for the Scottish National

Tom, has just the one ride today at Ayr Scottish Grand National.

2-3 over fences and his trainer won this with a 7yo novice in 2013; firmly in calculations.

Trainer - Alan King - Owners - Exors Of The Late Trevor Hemmings.

Alan King views - Alan can testify what a good record novices have in the Scottish Grand National as in 2013 he won the Ayr marathon with Godsmejudge, who was a second-season chaser, all of which augurs well for the chance of Major Dundee in the big race north of the border on Saturday.

Major Dundee carries the colours of that much-lamented owner Trevor Hemmings, whose strike-rate in this race is on a par with that of the novices as he won with Vicente in 2017 and was responsible for the third home in the next two years, Vintage Clouds and Cloth Cap.

Alan said:”Major Dundee stays all day and ought to be well suited by the race. I was delighted how well he jumped when runner-up at Newbury last time, and he is 2-3 over fences, having previously won his first two races over the larger obstacles at Bangor and Fakenham.
