Market Rasen

Tom has two booked rides today at Market Rasen.

12:52 GLIDE DOWN 0-6 on the Flat but has shown significant ability; stable does well in juvenile hurdles, for trainer Alan King.

3:22 FORGET THE WAY One of a few newcomers in this line-up who needs monitoring closely in the market, for trainer Alan King.

Geoff Lester posted on Alan King's website about the chances of the above.

Having followed Glide Down since I first saw him do a fast piece of work on the carpet all-weather gallop at Barbury in the autumn of last year, I’ll be interested to see how he shapes on his jumping debut in the juvenile hurdle at Market Rasen on Thursday.

Glide Down was placed three times on the Flat. He was gelded during the winter and has enjoyed a nice break since he last ran at Newbury in June, and, coming from the same family as St Leger winner Lucarno, he ought to stay well.

We also have Forget the Way having his first run for us there in the bumper in the colours of his owner-breeders, Robert Abrey and Ian Thurtle.

Alan said:”He’s by Getaway and a lovely horse, being a half-brother to Midnightreferendum, who has done really well for us, and he has been working nicely at home, so I am looking forward to seeing what he can do on the track.”
