Newbury

Tom has four rides at Newbury today.

1:20 DOUBLETHETROUBLE - Tailed off in April on sole hurdle outing and hasn't shone on the Flat since.

Owners - R W Hayward & E R Wakelin - Trainer - Lucy Wadham

1:55 UNANSWERED PRAYERS - Three hurdle wins last season and he's a possible improver on chase debut for in-form yard.

Owners - The Pres Partnership - Trainer - Chris Gordon

This lad had three hurdle wins (2m-2m5f, good to soft/soft) during last season's novice

campaign and he reappeared at Chepstow (2m3f, good) last month to run well finishing

5th and the form of that race has worked out well. He was runner-up in two points in

autumn 2020 and he's possible improver now making his chasing debut.

3:05 ANNUAL INVICTUS - Chase form became patchy during his last campaign but he's not written off back hurdling.

Owner - Thomas Michael Smith - Trainer - Chris Gordon

This Lads chase form became patchy during his last campaign, however a break may have

helped and he's well treated judged on his two chase wins last autumn. He won three times

over hurdles during 2020/21 season and is not written off now back in this sphere.

4:12 HIGHWAY ONE O FOUR - Brother to fair 2m3f-2m4f hurdle winner Hiway One O Three; yard 4-8 in bumpers this season.

Owner - Anthony Ward-Thomas - Trainer - Chris Gordon

Today this boy is making his racing debut having never run before. He's a lovely big 4

year old by Sageburg and he is full brother to Highway One O Three who won three

hurdles on the bounce last season. Today is all bumper horses to enjoy themselves

and learn their trade however he has been working well at home so fingers crossed

for a good run.
