Sandown

Tom has two rides today both for Trainer Alan King.

4:10 NOTACHANCE - COMMENTS

Well in on the pick of last winter's form but hasn't looked the same horse this season.

Owners - David J S Sewell & Tim Leadbeater.

4:45 DEYRANN DE CARJAC - COMMENTS

Not the force of old but slipping in the weights and has possibilities with cheekpieces on.

Owner - J Law.

Alan King views these two runners - Notachance with topweight in the Paddy Power Handicap Chase. “He didn’t jump as well as he can in the Classic Chase at Warwick in January, and we’ve decided a drop in class might help him,” added Alan, who, being also encouraged by the fact that Notachance has dropped 11lb since the start of the season, has opted to switch to cheekpieces from the visor.

Deyrann de Carjac also tries cheekpieces for the first time in the Sandown finale. Alan said:”I hope the forecast is right as an improvement in ground would help him. He fell at Kempton last time, but he schooled well on Monday, and the headgear might sharpen him up and get him to concentrate more.”
