Tom Cannon - Cheltenham

Tom Cannon, has three booked rides at Cheltenham for trainer

Alan King, insight into his runners at Cheltenham.

We are in for a busy afternoon at Cheltenham with Twilight Twist kick-starting our team in the juvenile hurdle. Alan added:”He won well first time out at Huntingdon and then ran well under the penalty at Newcastle, being beaten by a good horse of Dan Skelton’s (Too Friendly). Our fellow is progressive and lost nothing in defeat there.”

Skelton’s stable-star My Drogo has only three to beat in the novices’ chase, but the closest to the odds-on favourite on ratings is our own Jay Bee Why, a youngster whom Alan has always held in high esteem.

Alan said:”Jay Bee Why made a solid start to his fencing career at Exeter, where I was very pleased with his second to Striking A Pose. Jonathan Burke said afterwards that he wished that he’d held on to him longer, but Jay Bee Why jumped himself to the front four out. He’ll come on for that.”

We are three-handed in the mares handicap hurdle, and, assessing our trio, Alan added:”Wynn House and Hotter Than Hell finished one-two at Wincanton last month. I’ve always liked Wynn House, who has matured into a fine, big mare. She looked in a bit of trouble leaving the back straight, but she stayed on very well up the straight

“Hotter Than Hell, who had finished third in that race the previous year, likes to be fresh, so the five week break will have done her good.

“Our other representative is Her Indoors, who won twice last season and kept on progressing. I have always thought that she’d improve when she goes up in trip, and that comeback run at Wetherby will have brought her on.”

12:05 TWILIGHT TWIST A win and a good second from first two hurdle starts; more needed today but not ruled out.

12:40 JAY BEE WHY Faces tough task against My Drogo but this unexposed 6yo has a bright future over fences.

3:35 WYNN HOUSE Won at Wincanton on reappearance; this is hotter but she could have more left in the tank.
