We launch a twin attack on the Midlands Grand National

Tom has four booked rides today at Uttoxeter.

1:50 OPTIMISE PRIME - Won on reappearance; given time since lesser run since; could bounce back.

Owners - Mrs Rachel Brodie & John Brodie - Trainer - Ben Pauling

3:00 NOTACHANCE - Has the form to feature but has his off days, as was the case at Haydock latest.

Owners - David J S Sewell & Tim Leadbeater - Trainer - Alan King

We launch a twin-attack on the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter, with Notachance and Major Dundee both solid stayers who look tailor-made for this marathon.

Alan said:”Notachance was a good third in the Classic Chase at Warwick in January, and he probably found Haydock plenty sharp enough when subsequently third there.

“Major Dundee is better going left-handed, so I’d expect him to improve on his last run at Kempton, though if the ground did turn heavy I wouldn’t risk him as we want him peaking for the Scottish Grand National at Ayr next month.”

3:35 MISTER WATSON - Strong in the finish at Warwick and a likely contender provided 3m doesn't stretch him.

Owners - The JP Girls - Trainer - Ben Pauling

5:15 HELNWEIN - Stylish winner of Ffos Las bumper; has a fair bit more to offer so big shout here.

Owners - Noel Fehily Racing Syndicates - Trainer - Alan King

Alan has always thought the world of Heinwein, who was impressive when winning his bumper at Ffos Las in January. He’ll hopefully follow up at Uttoxeter even though he has a penalty.
